Food can be any type of substance that is mostly composed of carbohydrates, proteins, water and fats that can be eaten for nutrition or pleasure. Things that are considered to be food can come from animals, plants, or other items like fungus or fermented products like alcohol. Not sure about fungus but I am all in for the other types of food. Early man was a hunter and a gatherer, some of us still do this but most humans will use farming, ranching, fishing, foraging, and hunting of the types of methods of ways we human acquire food.
