There are so many events happening every day. The one thing all events have in common is the need for good food for the guests to enjoy and also a celebration cake. People just love cake and enjoy the many flavors that are available, it is also something that we all associate with celebrations. We were recently invited to a garden party. The event was a celebration for women and their accomplishments through the garden club. There were so many beautiful flowers everywhere as you can imagine. It was a social event like no other. They had some of the most interesting cakes we had ever seen. The cakes were all shaped as different flowers. This was not only beautiful it was a piece of art on the tables that had them. They were the hot topic of the evening. You can get totally original cakes for women online. The Cake Shop can shape them in so many different ways to customize your event, from gardening cakes to handbag cakes. You already know how many events that feature women you will be attending this year can you imagine if they all had customized cakes to make the event more memorable? What would they choose to shape their cake? It is fun to think about. Now for the events that you will be throwing such as birthday parties it would be truly special to have a cake that fits the occasion because of its design. At your next event make sure you check out The Cake Shop first just to see how original people can actually be through cake design.

When I heard about this video I thought to myself, wow baked cheese rolls. I like trying new foods and this video shows you how to make them. My son like to cook and act as chief. What better way to eat when someone is kind enough to cook for you. The end product looks great. I cannot wait.

I subscribe to the school of taking shortcuts when they make sense and don’t involve sacrificing quality. A lot of times that just applies to food prep because that’s somewhere where you can get a way with that a whole lot. I love food and if I’m able to take a shortcut so that I get to eat my creation even a few minutes earlier, I’m all about that.

I was in the mood to have something really nice to eat but I didn’t want to spend a whole lot of time fixing it last night. So I went online to try and get some inspiration about what I could make with what I already had in my cabinet. While I was online looking for that I ran across some information about satellite internet packages and decided to CLICK and order one of them for my home.

What I settled on making was stove top macaroni and cheese, but I found some recipe suggestions on how to doctor it up a little bit by adding in some extra spices and sprinkling shredded cheese into it. It really did make a big difference and I think I’ll have to add those extra things every time I fix it from now on.

We were having a big part at our house and of course our guests requested our cheese souffle. Everyone had told me ahead of time that they wanted us to serve Mexican food. We had done that once before and everyone is still taking about it. We found that making mexican quesadillas was a really big hit and everyone wanted them to be on the menu again. We also found a chicken pizza recipe that we knew our guests would also enjoy. We thought we would repeat the menu that we used once before with some small changes. That was a good idea. Then when one of our guests were leaving they said they can not wait to see what we do next time! That was a challenge for me. I have to come up with something really different for our next party but everyone will still look for our quesadillas!

There is one thing that I think everyone loves and always has an opinion on. That has to be peanut brittle. It seems that everyone has a place that they like to get their peanut brittle that is their favorite. Some people only like peanut brittle home made and others like it to taste home made and be bought from stores or candy makers directly. I have always loved peanut brittle. I have tasted the brittle made with different nuts and they are good but there is something about the traditional peanut brittle that just keeps everyone coming back. For us we eat peanut brittle every Christmas Eve while we enjoy our Christmas books. My children look at me with such intent as they listen to Christmas stories and munch on the peanut brittle. I just think of this candy in particular with fun memories so it is not only delicious but it touches my heart. If you have not tried peanut brittle (I can not imagine there is anyone that has not) then you need to try some just so you can have your favorite peanut brittle as well.

      Fried Chicken Chinese Style

      Ingredients:
1 1/2pound chicken wings, cut-up into segments at joints
      Oil for deep frying
      Lettuce leaves, shredded
Green onion, Chinese parsley and cashew nuts, all chopped for garnish

      Marinade:
      2 tablespoons soy sauce
      1 teaspoon sugar
      1 tablespoon Sherry wine
A few gratings of fresh ginger
      2 teaspoons hoisin sauce
      1 clove garlic, minced
      1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
      1 teaspoon salt

      Batter:
      2 eggs
      1/2 cup cornstarch
      1/2 cup flour

      Directions:

Mix well all ingredients of marinade. Soak chicken in marinade for 1 hour.
In a bowl, mix batter ingredients with marinated chicken. Stir well. Will be very sticky and stiff to mix.
Heat oil. Add chicken, piece by piece, carefully into hot oil (do not fill too full of chicken or it will take too long to brown). Fry chicken until cooked through.
Drain chicken on paper towels. Place on platter lined with lettuce shreds. Garnish with chopped green onions, Chinese parsley and cashew nuts. Serve with steamed rice.

Chicken is always a good choice, I could eat chicken every day

Has anyone watched the new show MasterChef on fox, that was created by Gordan Ramsay. Ramsay is the the one that brought the F word to TV from his Hell’s Kitchen show(I love that show).

The MasterChef show will be putting its contestants through their paces in many challenges that are designed to test their food knowledge, creating meal skills and mostly their passion for food. During all this their culinary skills will be pushed to their max. Each week they let go what is considered the weakest contestant until they come up with their choice as MasterChef. I will watch each week.
